Creation vs. Evolution--You Decide!
The chapter headings are:
I. Letter to Teachers/Parents A letter from the author explaining why this curriculum was written.
II. Before You Begin Information and ideas that will help the teacher use this curriculum
to its fullest potential.
III. The Unit Study Approach
A brief explanation of unit studies, followed by a subject key.
IV. The Curriculum
1. Why Study Origins
This unit introduces the idea of origins to the students. It gives
an explanation of creation and evolution and aims to awaken the students as
to the need of studying this topic.
2. How to Study Origins
This unit explains the difference between a fact and a theory. It
also presents the Jury Method of making decisions concerning creation and
evolution proofs.
3. Laws of Nature
This unit presents the first and second laws of thermodynamics in a
hands-on approach. After doing the activities in this unit the students
will understand these laws and be able to identify the laws in their daily
lives.
4. Design in Nature
This unit focuses on the intricate design seen in nature and
especially focuses on symbiotic relationships. The students then decide if
design supports creation or evolution.
5. Universal Considerations
This unit looks at the universe; our solar system and the planet
Earth while considering creation and evolution.
6. Fossils and the Flood
This unit deals with how fossils are formed and how a universal
flood fits into the creation model. Specifically considered is how both
origin models view the fossil record.
7. Dinosaurs
This unit deals with dinosaurs in the Bible, on the ark, and in the
fossil record. Here is the opportunity for students to learn fun facts
about these amazing creatures.
8. The Ape-Man
In this unit students will learn about the many different ape-man
transitions that have been presented by evolutionists over the past years.
Also discussed is the complexity of ancient civilizations and their
similarity to today's civilizations.
9. Darwin, Darwinism, Neo-Darwinism
The purpose of this chapter is to introduce the students to Charles
Darwin, his ideas, and how Neo-Darwinists have expanded and supplemented
Darwin's original theories.
V. Letter to the Student
As the title says, "You Decide!" After completing this course it is
time for the students to decide where they stand in relation to the Creation
vs. Evolution origins debate.
VI. Glossary
VII. Recommended Books

Creation vs. Evolution--You Decide!
For years I waited for a unit study that would teach creation and evolution in a manner which would present both sides of the debate. I wanted this curriculum to be easy to use, have lots of hands on activities for the kids, but also be full of critical thinking. I wanted it to be adaptable for many grade levels so that I could teach all my children at the same time, using the same curriculum, studying the same topic. Well, I waited for years and never found this curriculum. So, I wrote it myself. It took an entire school year as I wrote it and taught it at the same time. The kids put in their two cents worth about activities and how they could be improved. My husband came to the rescue on the word processer, deciphering all my handwriting, and turning it into an understandable curriculum. That is how this curriculum, Creation vs Evolution--You Decide! Came to be. It was developed to meet the specific desires that we had. And, though your family may be quite different than mine, I believe that we probably have some simular desires. I hope that you will find that Creation vs. Evolution--You Decide! will meet the educational, spiritual, and organizational needs of your homeschool.

Semester Hour Record Forms
If you are teaching homeschool high school (or looking forward to that day) you know that the last thing you need is more complicated forms!
This little record book was designed by my husband, my teen-age son, and myself. Together we came up with a simple way to keep track of hours completed in each individual high school course.
Our goal was to make it as simple and painless as possible so that the student (ie. our son) would be able to do his own time keeping. This record book is the fruit of that collaboration.
Also in this book you will find the basic requirements for general and college prep high school courses. Plus, described are three ways to tackle high school subjects: Mastery Method, Traditional Method, and Text Completion Method. We have also include a form which may be reproduced to help you describe the courses your high school student takes.
All of this is combined into one easy to use record book which comes in yellow, blue, ivory or green so that you can color code for different students. One book will hold all the records for all the high school years. We made sure that you would have plenty of room to record courses in every subject, and we were particularly generous under the heading of Electives.
Letters From a Friend
Homeschooling is a journey. A journey that is both exciting and exhausting. A journey which is both fun and frantic.
As you take this journey, you need not feel alone. You are surrounded by good company, though you may feel that you alone are holding the reins.
Letters From A Friend began as letters submitted to a local homeschool support group as simple words of encouragement. These letters have been bound together to offer every homeschooling woman the encouraging words that she needs to hear.
The letters are on various topics--teen-agers, toddlers, wisdom, prayer, organization--but each is short enough to be managable by the busy homeschool mother. The letters begin with a succinct quote, followed by a letter from me, closed with an appropriate scripture.
Letters From a Friend would make a perfect gift to any homeschool mom who needs an encouraging word...and who couldn't use a little encouragement!
